Stainless Steel 304 series VS Stainless Steel 316L series 

-SS304 Series:

Good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties, stamping bending and other good thermal processing, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon, no magnetic.  Widely used in household articles, cabinets, indoor pipelines, water heaters, boilers, bathtubs, auto parts, medical appliances, building materials, chemistry, food industry, agriculture, ship parts  

-SS316L Series: 

Mo(2-3%) is added to steel, so it has excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength;  316L has lower carbon content than 316 and higher creep strength at high temperature.  Can be used in harsh conditions, good work hardening, no magnetic.  Suitable for seawater equipment, chemical, dye, paper making, oxalic acid, fertilizer production equipment, photography, food industry, coastal facilities.  

-Main differences :

Price: the price of SS304 is lower than SS316L.

Performance: the corrosion resistance and strength of SS316L are better than SS304.
